June 2009

This case illustrates utilization of orthodontic mini-screws (also called TADs - temporary anchorage devices) to intrude a molar to accomodate ideal occlusion for dental implant restorations.

Case was completed in 2007-2008, and involved a team of orthodontist (Dr. Cha, Santa Clarita, CA), restorative dentist (Dr. Richard Paik, Palmdale, CA) and a peridoodontist/implant surgeon (Dr. Jin Kim).

The RMO dual anchor TAD system (manufactured by Jeil Medical, South Koea)

4 TADs  were utilized, 2 in the facial aspect of alveolus, and 2 in the palatal aspect.

An ideal occlusal plane is achieved for restorative finishing.

Happy ending!!!

The implant in #18 site is an Implantium One (Dentium USA Inc) and the one in #19 site is Bihorizons Internal.
